I'm Kristin, and I believe that play is AWESOME!

Play helps us develop who we are. It feeds our curiosities and passions. It helps us build relationships both with the environment and other people. It teaches us about, nature, science and our own emotional regulation. The the more diverse our environment is, the more opportunities for play there can be. Play is important for us all, adults and children alike. Play can look different from person to person. Loud and quiet, tidy and messy, solitary and social, rule based and chaotic, daring and safe, physical and mental... all of it has value and needs a supportive environment.

In the 15 years I spent teaching, I discovered the value of a playful environment and the frustration and depravity that grows in an environment devoid of play and personal choice.

​

I left teaching in 2014 and pursued a Master's Degree in The Study of Play from the University of Goucetershire with the goal of educating others about the value of play.

​

Since then, I have taught dozens of seminars and have enriched hundreds of environments for free play at schools, camps, places of worship, parks, community events and homes.

​
